<p>Gamification in education uses gaming mechanics to make traditional learning environments more engaging and interactive. This approach enhances student engagement and promotes active participation by incorporating rewards, competition, achievements, and progress tracking. Hazard hunts are instrumental in pre-emptively managing workplace safety by ensuring hazards are promptly recognized, assessed, and mitigated. The Safety Railway Game provides high levels of enjoyment and engagement compared to traditional teaching methods, with mean agreement and importance ratings for having fun and enjoying the lesson/game session being both 4.9 out of 5. <p>Technological innovations have transformed education, offering learning opportunities outside traditional classrooms through online resources. However, self-learning programming remains challenging for beginners. The SPARK C++ tool was developed to assist Mechanical and Civil Engineering students at Universiti Teknologi MARA in mastering C++ modular programming. This study evaluates the usability of SPARK C++ using Nielsen's metrics: learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction. Sixty-three students from these engineering programs participated, providing data through Nielsen's Usability Test, which included Likert scale questions and open-ended feedback. The results revealed significant differences in usability perceptions by gender and program, with female Mechanical Engineering students reporting higher satisfaction. Key strengths were user-friendly design, engaging content, interactive quizzes, and multimedia features. Areas for improvement included better error messages, more comprehensive notes, and downloadable results. Enhancing these aspects can improve learning experiences and retention rates. <p>University students belong to the ‘millennial’ age group, a group that evolves around the use of IT and social media in their everyday life. TikTok, a short video social media application, can be used in the higher education learning institution as a supplementary teaching and learning activity. Most researchers find that TikTok has many benefits if implemented correctly by university students. This study is conducted to explore whether TikTok can be used a supplement to the traditional teaching and learning practiced nowadays. A semi structured interview analysis was conducted towards 10 university students to explore whether the available videos in TikTok application are suitable for higher educational related purpose and whether the application can be used as a supplement to teaching and learning activities and was analysed using thematic analysis. It is concluded that there are plenty of beneficial videos for higher education purpose in the application and these videos can act as a supplement to the traditional teaching and learning process.</p>Abdul Muhaimin Ab. <p>Honeypots have become invaluable tools in the field of cybersecurity, allowing researchers to gain insights into attacker behaviour, collect data on malicious activities, and develop effective defence strategies. Traditionally, honeypots relied on rule-based approaches or signature-based detection to identify and categorise attacks. However, with the growing complexity and diversity of cyber threats, these methods often struggle to keep pace with evolving attack techniques. Modern honeypots, such as T-Pot, have become multi-faceted systems that provide researchers with a wealth of data. They could emulate different vulnerabilities and services, thus attracting a wide array of cyberattacks. This ability to simulate real-world systems and networks allowed for a detailed analysis of attack methodologies and helped to understand the evolving nature of cyber threats. As attacks became more sophisticated, so did the strategies to combat them. This included understanding the landscape of cyber threats, anticipating potential vulnerabilities, and staying ahead of the attackers. Thus, this project aims to implement a complex honeypot system with capabilities to detect and prevent cyberattacks. The project will involve designing the honeypot infrastructure, collecting data on attacks, integrating the model into the honeypot system for real-time analysis, generating reports and alerts based on the analysis, and continuously improving the system's defences. The tests revealed that honeypots can perform real cyberattacks, as well as detect and warn about threats. This project used Nmap, Hydra, and Hping3 to pretend to be attackers and show that the honeypot could fake network resources and attract them, which makes it a smart network intrusion detection system. There was a lot of experimental data on how well the honeypot could find things. Each test checked how well the honeypot could find threats on the network. <p>With an emphasis on improving inventory control for a convenience shop in Malaysia, this study explores the use of a fuzzy inventory model in the context of retail management. Data from Mohd Noor Mart, an actual retail location at UiTM Perlis, is gathered for the study to evaluate the effectiveness of the concept. This study uses fuzzy non-linear programming, which was carefully considered, to address the fuzzy inventory model with storage space and budget constraints. The goals include evaluating the fuzzy method's performance in this situation, figuring out how best to divide the available funds and space among the different products, and figuring out which space is best for the product that is in the greatest demand. The study's scope focuses on a fuzzy inventory model that specifically addresses storage space and budget constraints, which are critical factors in avoiding issues such as overstocking, understocking, and financial strain. The study is significant for businesses looking to improve their inventory management by implementing a fuzzy inventory model. The study's findings indicate that the proposed inventory model and solution method are effective tools for retail managers facing real-world challenges. The methodology used is fuzzy non-linear programming using MATLAB R2023a. The results show that the optimal order quantity is 10,000 units, with a corresponding demand (d*) of 14.142136 and an optimal alpha value of 1. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in optimizing inventory management, especially in the face of uncertainty. <p>Supplier selection is a critical factor in the success of fertigation systems, which integrate irrigation and fertilization to enhance agricultural productivity. This process's inherent uncertainty and complexity necessitate decision-making methodologies considering human judgment and risk preference factors. This study proposes the fuzzy DEMATEL method with a ranking based on the degree of optimism to evaluate and prioritise supplier selection criteria in fertigation systems. Six experts were involved in evaluating the influence of criteria such as price, quality, delivery, public procurement policy, technical, and managerial. The proposed method consists of 11 steps, including developing a fuzzy direct-relation matrix, average matrix, normalised fuzzy direct-relation matrix, fuzzy total relation matrix, and ranking based on left and right integral value. The left integral value represents the decision maker's perspective that is more inclined towards pessimism, while the right integral value represents the perspective that is more inclined towards optimism. The proposed method is implemented in the selection of supplier criteria in the fertigation system at one branch of RISDA (Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority) on the East Coast of Malaysia. The findings reveal that technical and quality criteria are paramount, though their relative importance shifts depending on the decision-maker’s degree of optimism. Specifically, technical criteria are prioritised by neutral and optimistic decision-makers, while quality criteria are regarded as most important by pessimistic decision-makers. Furthermore, the study identifies public procurement policy and technical criteria as part of the causal group, significantly influencing other criteria such as price, delivery, and managerial factors. The results align with previous research, confirming the consistency aspect of the fuzzy DEMATEL method with a degree of optimism-based ranking. <p>Rapid floods usually occur in an uncertain and unpredictable time, and it will cause major disaster to environment and humanity especially at recreational areas. An IoT early warning system using Arduino technology is proposed to cater this problem. The system includes sensors for temperature, humidity, water flow, and ultrasonic measurements used for further analysis. This research aims to develop a system to monitor and detect water flow activity, such as water level and velocity, and notify of potential rapid floods earlier than estimated occurring time. The current temperature and humidity of the areas also can be recorded with the proposed device The System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology was adapted for implementation of the project. Field testing at Puncak Janing Waterfall in Kedah State was chosen as test site for sensor functionality evaluation. Data is stored in a Firebase database, with an ESP32 Lo-Ra used for connectivity suitable for remote area and coding was done in Arduino IDE tool. <p>The advancement of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in higher education necessitates efficient systems for assessing and managing student program outcomes. Traditional methods often fall short in providing integrated and streamlined approaches to track and evaluate student attainment, posing a significant challenge for academic institutions. This study introduces the development of the College of Engineering Academic Information Management System (CO-AIMS) in School of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering, UiTM Pasir Gudang to address these issues. Utilizing the Rapid Application Development (RAD) model, CO-AIMS is designed to measure Program Outcomes (POs) through advanced computing technologies. The system offers robust functionalities that allow academic advisors to monitor and analyze student performance at individual, semester, and cohort levels. By enabling data-driven decision-making and fostering continuous improvement in educational practices, CO-AIMS aligns student achievements with institutional objectives more effectively. <p>In this paper, we discuss the requirements elicitation for a web-based system that provides a dyslexia early screening test and dyslexia information resources. Related works such as screening tool and websites were reviewed in order to highlight their key features and functionalities. This information was used to guide the suitable functional and non-functional requirements for the online assessment and assistance which would serve the interest of the educators, parents, individuals with dyslexia and system administrators who would be responsible in the system operation and maintenance. The screening tool was designed by adapting the Instrumen Senarai Semak Disleksia (ISD) that has already been used by teachers in Malaysian schools to identify if a child has high or low probability of having dyslexic. <p>Today, stress often becomes a significant problem in the daily life. Various factors contribute to this mental health issue, including a busy lifestyle, work pressure, financial issues, health concerns, tense interpersonal relationships, technological advancements, and social changes. In the tertiary education especially, stress can significantly affect students’ mental health and this can impact their performance in academic study. The stress level may impact differently between gender, this is due to some factor that are unique to female students’ experiences such as social pressure, hormonal factor or safety concern. This research is focus during the post covid19 where students are studying in hybrid mode which is online and also face to face for certain subjects they learn in university. This research aims to see the differences in the mean stress score by gender and also the relationship between level of stress and gender by using Depression Anxiety Stress Test (DASS) questionnaire. The data of the questionnaire are collected during online webinar and analyzed based on the objective of this research. <p>University students are frequently preoccupied with their classes, assignments and extracurricular activities, particularly on campus. This may cause them to lose track of any events or programmes that have taken place on campus. Event or programme organizers at the UiTM Machang community often publicize their events by simply placing posters throughout the campus area or disseminating messages through social media like Whatsapp and Telegram. Due to their hectic schedules, students occasionally fail to see the posters and messaging, which in turn leads to a lack of attendees at the organizers' activities. By using predictive Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, User-centered UiTM e-Event is developed to benefit both the students and event organizers within the UiTM Machang community for improving event management. By developing the system, students’ event information can be centralized, hence, ease the students to discover and engage with upcoming events. UiTM e-Event offers an efficient platform to promote their events, facilitating the attraction of a larger audience and encouraging greater participation among UiTM Machang users. <p>This study investigates the complex realm of modern smartphone design through the lens of Malaysian teenagers, aiming to uncover significant insights into their preferences and viewpoints. Understanding the way teenagers perceive and interact with smartphones remains crucial, despite the ubiquity of these devices in today’s digital society. This research addresses a notable gap in the existing literature by specifically examining the perspectives of Asian individuals, particularly Malaysian teenagers. It aims to shed light on their unique cultural backgrounds and technological inclinations. A meticulously organised workshop was conducted, involving ten teenagers from Perak State, Malaysia. The participants engaged in talks and creative exercises, delving into different facets of smartphone design elements and applications. The research identifies five key areas to consider when designing smartphones: the physical shape and materials used, the type of display technology employed, the security measures and user identification methods, the audio and multimedia capabilities, and the networking options and charging mechanisms. Additionally, there are three themes that can be used to customise the features of smartphone applications to meet the requirements of teenagers: security and authentication, productivity and creativity tools, and cutting-edge features and technologies. <p>The aim of this paper is to develop an informative website to address the lack of accessible information and awareness about solar energy usage in Malaysia. The system aims to equip users with knowledge, awareness, and information about solar energy. Additionally, the website incorporates a data visualization feature that demonstrates Malaysia's electrical consumption, enabling users to observe the potential cost savings of utilizing solar energy. The project has three objectives, which are to obtain system requirements for displaying information on solar energy usage in Malaysia, design a data visualization to evaluate Malaysia's suitability for solar energy, and develop an informative website that allows users to explore solar energy data visualization related to Malaysia. The informative website development utilized the Waterfall Model, which progresses through the phases of requirements analysis, system design, and system testing. User Acceptance Testing was conducted to determine the informative website's perceived usability and perceived user satisfaction. <p class="Abstract"><span lang="EN-US">Campus bookstore management system integrated with WhatsApp and Google services is a new approach of the web-based development project, especially for students to purchase and sell vast quantities of books, mainly used books. This approach helps students obtain books quicker and more cheaply. The proposed system utilized Google services such as email, Google form and Google spreadsheet. While WhatsApp allows communication between admin and users for any transaction made. Meanwhile, ToyyibPay payment gateway lets students purchase books online without cash. Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the system which is usability testing and network performance test. A usability testing was done with 30 respondents to assess the efficacy of the system by reviewing questionnaires, which was categorized into 4 categories included user interface satisfaction, usefulness and ease of use, usability of the system, and WhatsApp and Google services integration. The findings indicated most respondents were satisfied and positively accepted the proposed system. Meanwhile, the result of network performance on the website speed test for mobile and desktop devices was satisfactory.
